David Duchovny and 600Million.org Help Stray Dogs

David Duchovny and 600Million.org Help Stray Dogs

The number of stray dogs in the world has reached 600 million, and David Duchovny wants to help end their suffering.

In a new PSA, the 50-year-old actor (who recently split from wife Tea Leoni) sheds light on a heart-wrenching topic: The stray dog population is out of control and many pups are starving and surviving solely on human garbage. Millions of dogs, especially in countries without animal cruelty laws, are being brutally killed to cut back on numbers.

But 600million.org is looking to help by giving stray dogs a new pill that will safely sterilize them, thus reducing population growth. But the organization (whose celebrity supporters include Duchovny, Eric Roberts and Estella Warren) can't do it alone.

"This type of pharmaceutical work is expensive and we need your help to pay for development, regulatory approval and distribution of these pills," Duchovny says. "So please make a donation."

Duchovny currently stars on the Showtime series Californication and will costar with Vera Farmiga and Keri Russell in the upcoming film Goats.
